Auger-Aliassime Notches 200th Hard-Court Win, Sets Sights on Miami Third Round

Canadian tennis star Félix Auger-Aliassime reached a significant career milestone on Saturday, securing his 200th victory on hard courts with a straight-sets win at the Miami Open. The Montreal native now prepares for a crucial third-round clash later today.

The eighth-seeded Auger-Aliassime battled past Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics 7-6 (3), 7-5 in a tense second-round encounter. The victory marked a historic hard-court achievement for the 25-year-old, underscoring his prowess on the surface.

“It’s a nice number to reach,” Auger-Aliassime said in post-match comments. “It shows consistency over the years. But the focus is always on the next match, the next point.”

That next point will come against France’s Terence Atmane (world No. 53) in the Round of 32. The match is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on the Grandstand court. Auger-Aliassime enters the contest with momentum, having also recently won his opening match at the ATP 500 event in Dubai, where he saved six match points to defeat China’s Zhizhen Zhang.

By the Numbers: FAA’s Career

Auger-Aliassime’s career continues to be one of the most successful in Canadian tennis history:

  • Current ATP Ranking: 8
  • Career-High Ranking: 5 (achieved 17 November 2025)
  • Career Win-Loss Record (ATP): 279–176
  • 2026 Season Record: 13–4
  • ATP Tour Titles: 9
  • Career Prize Money (CAD): Approximately $21.7 million
  • Olympic Medal: Bronze in mixed doubles (Tokyo 2020)

His victory in Montpellier earlier this year successfully defended his title there and set a new Canadian record for ATP tour-level titles.

Today’s Challenge: Terence Atmane

The rising Frenchman Atmane represents a fresh challenge. Auger-Aliassime will rely on his powerful serve—averaging over 10 aces per match—and improved mental fortitude to advance.

“Today I feel like I have greater control over my career,” Auger-Aliassime noted in a recent interview, referencing a period of resurgence that began last summer.

A win today would propel Auger-Aliassime into the fourth round of the Miami Open, a tournament where he has previously demonstrated his potential as a “rising star” capable of deep Grand Slam runs.
